Sending text messages and emailing are part of everyday life for many.

 

With some alarming regularity... someone or some company gets ‘broken into’ in the form of ‘hacking’ into data or into the email..

 

Both emails and text messages are sent with little or no security, and that means that the things you send can be intercepted, especially by the ‘bad guys’  that are as smart as the providers, as that information is valuable!

 

Don’t send complete private info by email..

 

And this is why you may not or should not email rental applications.

 

The FTC has declared that no “Private or Personal” information may be sent via email without encryption.

And yes they have a fine for allowing the theft of information..!

In Oregon, Identity Theft can result in a class C Felony.

 

There is no such thing as too careful.

Technology is a wonderful thing, but as with all things, there will always be someone out there looking for an opportunity.

 

Just go Google “Email Theft” and look at the pages and pages of information that appear.

 

This is why we don’t accept emailed applications. It puts you and the applicant in harms way, and part of our job is to prevent problems.
